Children & Youth Behavioral Health Initiative

CYBHI is a California program designed to expand access to school-based mental and behavioral health services for students while providing school districts with a sustainable way to be reimbursed for eligible services. Through the CYBHI Program, Dinuba Unified School District can bill health plans and Medi-Cal for covered behavioral health services provided to students at school, helping increase funding without any out-of-pocket cost to families. Examples of reimbursable services include behavioral health screenings, mental health assessments, individual or group counseling, therapy services, crisis intervention, case management, care coordination, and other ongoing mental health supports that promote student well-being and success.

As part of the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), our school district in partnership with the Tulare County Office of Education is asking families to share your child’s medical insurance information. This helps us make sure students can get the care and support they need at school.

Your information is private and protected under all privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Sharing this information will not change your child’s insurance or their ability to receive services. You will never be asked to pay anything. The school will not charge co-pays or deductibles for any care your student gets through us.

To help Dinuba Unified School District continue providing school-based behavioral health services through CYBHI, please complete our online student insurance form with your child's information.
