What are the requirements?
Department of Justice (DOJ) Consortium fingerprint clearance
- For fingerprinting appointment, call (559) 737-4363 or (559) 733-6752.
- To confirm if you currently have DOJ Consortium fingerprint clearance, call (559) 733-6859 or (559) 730-2542.
AND
Valid California Credential that authorizes substitue teaching:
- California Substitute Permit authorizations/requirements
- Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit
- Completed BA or higher degree from a regionally-accredited college or university
- Passed basic skills exam
- Emergency Prospective Teacher Substitute Permit
- Completed minimum of 90 semester units of course work from a regionally-accredited college or university
- Currently enrolled in a regionally-accredited four-year California college or university
- Passed basic skills exam
- Basic Skills 30-Day Substitute Permit Waiver
(must apply through Tulare County Office of Education)- Completed BA or higher degree from a regionally-accredited college or university
- Have not passed basic skills exam
- Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit
- List of all other California authorizations to substitute teach per Title 5 §80025.3(a)
